Position Summary...

The Creative Project Manager is a key player in driving the execution of full-funnel creative campaigns, ensuring seamless collaboration across Creative Account Management, Creative, and Production teams. This role involves managing project intake, developing detailed schedules, tracking milestones, and maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle. Candidates should have 2–3 years of experience in a creative agency environment and be proficient in tools like Workfront. Success in this role requires high accountability, strong relationship management, and the ability to lead with urgency and calm under pressure. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can navigate ambiguity and keep projects moving forward with minimal oversight.

What You'll Do...

  • Partner with Creative Account Management on project intake ensuring that resources are appropriately assigned, and jobs are opened in Workfront.
  • Develop detailed project schedules, working with account, creative and production team members on input and alignment.
  • Keep project team updated on key milestones, timeline shifts, and changes in deliverables.
  • Drive projects from beginning to end and be the “go-to” person on project status.
  • Provide detailed support for the creative team and be a “righthand” to the creative lead through the creative development process.
  • Ensure project milestones and documents are updated in Workfront as projects progress through the agency.
  • Lead internal status meetings and share status documents to ensure clarity of weekly milestones, meetings, and deliverables.
  • Call out scheduling, resourcing or other potential challenges well in advance and offer solutions.
  • Follow up with creative and production teams to ensure they have the assets needed to get the job done. Ensure that the teams are working toward key milestones.
  • Liaise with other Creative Account Management & Operations leads to ensure work is being routed to appropriate partners while in development (legal, trademark, Corp Comms, etc.).
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional partners and escalate to creative leadership when needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-3 years as a Creative Project Manager with an advertising agency or in-house creative group.
  • Experience leading a high volume of projects ranging from branding and conceptual development to tactical execution.
  • Experience with Workfront or similar PM software preferred.

Behaviors

  • High accountability – a successful Creative Project Manager will “own” their projects from intake to completion.
  • Presence & urgency – brings a sense of presence to the meetings they attend and the emails they write while also showing urgency with the consistency and speed with which they respond to others.
  • Servant leader – able to lead project teams and hold team members accountable while understanding they aren’t decision makers on the creative work.
  • Solutions-oriented – creative problem solver that overcomes hurdles with a sense of calm.
  • Relationship manager – skilled at establishing and maintaining relationships with partners and peers at all levels.
  • Master negotiator – understands the levers to pull when developing and managing timelines, deliverables, and feedback.
  • Ownership – the right candidate will be the foundation and driving force for the campaign and project team.
  • Can run blind – with significant variability across initiatives, this person must be able to move the ball forward through discovery, trial and error, little background info, and minimal everyday handholding.
