Job summary

St Columbanus' College in Bangor is seeking a Technician 2 to provide technical support to teaching staff, manage practical resources, and supervise up to 5 staff. You will prepare class resources, maintain equipment, and assist with health and safety and administration.

The post requires five GCSEs including English, Maths and Art & Design, plus six months' experience in an Art & Design setting. 36 hours per week, permanent contract, on-site duties and a School Principal line manager.

Qualifications

• Five GCSEs (A*-C) to include English Language, Mathematics and Art & Design.
• Minimum six months' experience in an Art and Design department or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Technician 2 role and health and safety regulations; familiarity with administrative processes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and allocate duties; provide on the job training as needed.
• Assist in developing and manufacturing teaching aids and models.
• Prepare resources for classes, set up, test, demonstrate and dismantle as per schemes of work.
• Maintain and store equipment; ensure items are ready for use; arrange repairs or disposal as needed.
• Ensure safety and restricted access; advise on health and safety related to equipment.
• Develop and operate administrative systems; maintain inventories and records.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, storing and distributing resources.
• Support staff in pupil safety and assist with emergencies; photocopying; light hospitality duties.
