The Art & Design department seeks part time day, evening, and weekend instructors at Catonsville and Essex campuses for studio courses including: 3D Modeling in Rhino, Drawing, Two‑Dimensional Design, Three‑Dimensional Design, Color Theory, Graphic Design, Painting, Ceramics, Printmaking, and Photography.

Minimum Requirements
  • Master of Fine Arts; or Master’s degree in related field with 18 credits in Art; or Bachelor’s degree in Art with qualifying equivalency/portfolio and successful experience as a practitioner in the field
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications knowledge
  • Experience using classroom technology and learning managementsystems preferred
  • Two years of teaching experience, preferably at a college level
Class Specific Essential Duties
  1. Fulfills department and college responsibilities as directed by the program director and/or course coordinator
  2. Abides by College wide policies and procedures regarding classroom conduct
  3. Ensures instruction meets or exceeds standards established by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design
  4. Employs a variety of teaching strategies to meet a diverse student population
  5. Adheres to the scheduled time of class/lab
  6. Develops a course syllabus that is in keeping with program and College policies
  7. Ensures that program specific evaluation methods are administered and completed in a consistent and equitable manner
  8. Assure that evaluation methods are appropriate and effectively assessing the established course objectives
  9. Monitors student performance on a regular basis and provides feedback within a reasonable timeframe to students
