Job summary

inploi seeks a Creative Art Technician to support the Art Department in a school environment. You will help create inspirational pupil displays, prepare resources for lessons and assist teaching staff as required to ensure smooth day-to-day running.

Your duties include mounting displays, preparing GCSE exhibition materials, organizing art resources and assisting with stock, safety and classroom setup. This role involves cross-team support and occasional event hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Mounting general displays of Art and Design work in the department and throughout the school, including labelling and explanatory presentations.
• Mounting final GCSE Art and design assessment exhibitions with compliant labelling.
• Preparation and maintenance of specialist art resources including paints (tempera, watercolour, gouache, acrylics) and materials for 3D projects; dyes and fabrics for batik; wire for projects.
• Storage and preparation of resources for photoshoots; knowledge of ceramics, glazes and kiln operation; collection and organization of visual resources.
• To assist in preparing materials, equipment and teaching aids for classroom use and maintain safe, tidy working areas.
• Organise stock checks, keep inventory accurate and report levels to Head of Department.
• Assistance with hospitality for visitors/events when required.
• General school administration/office duties when required; invigilation if needed.
• Comply with School Protocols, policies and procedures including Child Protection, health, safety, confidentiality, and data protection; report concerns.
