Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care in Tennessee seeks a Medical Assistant with radiology duties to operate diagnostic equipment, develop films, and prepare rooms for procedures. Responsibilities cover documentation, patient transfer assistance, and quality control while maintaining licensure and staying current with imaging knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS Certification.
• TN State X-Ray License.
• ARRT Certification preferred.
• Experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly in waiting areas, exam rooms, and radiology rooms.
• Communicate wait times and guide patients through the treatment process.
• Provide solutions to patient problems and recognize emergent situations.
• Perform follow-up calls with urgency and assist with front desk check-in/out.
• Record vital signs, weight, history, medications, allergies, and pertinent data.
• Assist with patient transfers and procedures under supervision.
• Follow documentation procedures for patient visits and radiology procedures.
• Ensure equipment is functioning and report malfunctions to the Manager or provider.
• Maintain and improve diagnostic imaging knowledge with ongoing education.
• Maintain licensure and certification for radiology equipment and facility licensure.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

BLS Certification

TN State X-Ray License

ARRT Certification preferred
