Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring an Armed Security Officer at a retail location in Houston, TX. The role is part-time with scheduled shifts and requires an active Level III Armed Certification and a valid driver’s license.

You will provide customer service, patrol the premises, deter theft, and document incidents while coordinating with store leadership and Allied Universal supervision. Applicants must be 21+, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and pass a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• 3+ years combined law enforcement/corrections/military OR 5+ years armed security experience.
• Valid driver’s license required per Allied Universal policy.
• Level III Armed Certification in Texas is required.
• Minimum age of 21 for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients at a retail grocery location, following security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies, calmly coordinating with local law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of store, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter.
• Monitor entrances/exits and report suspicious activity or policy violations promptly.
• Complete incident reports and logs, maintaining clear communication with leadership and supervision.

This driving position requires a valid driver's license and Level III Armed Certification. Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

Required Qualifications:

Job Schedule:

• Mon 02:00 PM - 11:30 PM
• Sun 02:00 PM - 11:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors at a retail grocery location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including contacting local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the store, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter to help deter theft, trespassing, and other unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas; observe and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and incidents according to site procedures.
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation while maintaining professional communication with store leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security experience.
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
