Job summary

Bally's Lincoln Casino Resort in Rhode Island is seeking a security officer to respond to incidents, safeguard cash drops, escort guests and employees, and patrol entrances, floors, and event spaces. You will work in shifts, handle emergencies, complete security reports, and cooperate with law enforcement and regulators while ensuring guest safety and compliance with state laws.

Background in security or law enforcement preferred; physical fitness required.

Qualifications

• Rhode Island Pistol Permit preferred.
• Must be licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulations and pass a state background check.
• Security agents shall be current or former law enforcement officers with at least 2 years on-the-job experience.
• Certificate of completion from a law enforcement academy preferred.
• Current or former correctional officers with at least 2 years on-the-job experience preferred.
• Active or former military personnel with honorable discharge and 3 years of service preferred.
• Armed or unarmed guards with 3 years on-the-job experience preferred.
• Constantly stand, walk long distances, climb, carry, hear, bend, and stoop.
• Must follow instructions, pay attention to detail, and demonstrate eye/hand coordination.

Responsibilities

• First responders to incidents including accidents, emergencies, medical aids and requests for assistance.
• Guard and escort monies and safeguard nightly drops from VLT machines.
• Positioned at visible locations to deter incidents and assist guests.
• Provide information and direct guests to appropriate sources for assistance.
• Check identification as required by Rhode Island state law.
• Prepare security reports and cooperate with outside agencies and investigations.
• Provide security for events, fights, parties, employee events, and tournaments.
• Escort guests, employees, outside agencies, and assist in transporting injured persons.
• Roam parking lots, valet areas, and casino exteriors.
• Respond quickly to emergencies including fires, fights, thefts, and arrests.
• Monitor entrances, gaming floor, and bars for alcohol control.
• Verify authorization and issue access badges for facility access.
• Detain and retrain persons as needed and eject violators per company policy.
• Assist fire, police, or other agencies during incidents.

Responsibilities:

• First responders to matters of incident to include accidents, emergencies, medical aids and request for assistance from other departments.
• Guard and escort monies to specific locations throughout the facility and safe guard the nightly drop of monies and tickets from the VLT machines.
• Strategically posted at visible locations throughout the facility to deter incidents and remain accessible to guests.
• Possess knowledge of all Twin River Casino facilities
• Assist guests by providing information and services or directing guests to the appropriate source for assistance.
• Checks identification of individuals entering Twin River in compliance with Rhode Island state law.
• Prepare security reports, communicate with guests, outside agencies, and assist in employee investigations.
• Provide security for special events, fights, parties, employee events, and tournaments
• Act as escorts for guests, employees, outside agencies, transportation of injured employees, and disabled guests.
• Rove self-parking lots, valet, and exterior of casino.
• Act quickly in emergency response which includes injured guests and employees, fires, fights, thefts, and arrests.
• Observe and report any hazardous, dangerous or unsafe conditions that may cause injury to guests and/or employees.
• Assist fire, police, or other law enforcement agency in their official capacity when responding to or investigating incidents within the facility.
• Patrol and monitor entrances, gaming floor, and bar areas for the control of alcohol consumption.
• Monitor the physical access control for the facility verifying authorization and issuing visitor and employee access badges in accordance with the Department of Business Regulations and Rhode Island Lottery.
• When appropriate detain and retrain persons that have or are about to commit a crime or present danger.
• When appropriate eject persons who are in violations of company policies and procedures.

Working Conditions:

• Constantly hot, cold, noisy, wet, dry, dirty, smoky, and dusty
• Rotating shifts
• Occasionally dirty
• Work in a moderate noise level environment, increasing to loud at time

Target Hourly Range: ($22.50)

Qualifications

Experience

• Must be able to be licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulations, as well as be able to complete a background check performed by them. (preferred)
• Security agents shall be current or former law enforcement officers, in good standing, with a minimum of two (2) years of on-the-job experience.
• They will have a certificate of completion from a law enforcement academy approved by the Director. (preferred)
• Security agents must also be current or former correctional officers with a minimum of two (2) years of on the-job experience, in good standing, and graduates of the Correction Officers Training Academy; current or former U.S. Department of Homeland Security personnel who have received appropriate law enforcement training and have a minimum of two (2) years of on-the-job experience. (preferred)
• Active, or former, military personnel with an honorable discharge and a minimum of three (3) years of service, who either have appropriate law enforcement training and experience consistent with civilian law enforcement experience.
• Armed or unarmed security guards, in good standing, who have a minimum of three (3) years of on-the-job experience with a reputable security services firm approved by the Director and satisfactorily complete the training requirements. (preferred)
• Constantly stand, walk several hundred feet, climb, carry, hear, bend, and stoop.
• Constantly use manual dexterity, following directions, adhere to detail.
• Frequently use eye/hand coordination. (preferred)
