Job summary

Bally's Corporation's Twin River Casino in Lincoln, RI is seeking a security officer to monitor entrances and gaming floors, deter incidents, assist guests, and respond swiftly to emergencies. You will patrol, ensure access control, and coordinate with local authorities when needed.

The role requires alertness, physical stamina, and good guest relations. Rhode Island pistol permit (preferred) and DBR licensing are advantages; a competitive hourly wage and stable schedule are offered.

Qualifications

  • Rhode Island Pistol Permit (preferred).
  • Must be licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulations and pass a background check.
  • Armed or unarmed security guards with a minimum of three years of on-the-job experience preferred.
  • Active or former military personnel with relevant law enforcement experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to incidents including accidents, emergencies, medical aids, and department requests.
  • Guard and escort monies and safeguard nightly drops from VLT machines.
  • Deterrence through strategic positioning and guest assistance.
  • Provide information and direct guests to appropriate sources for help.
  • Check IDs at facility entrances in compliance with state law.
  • Prepare security reports and communicate with guests and outside agencies.
  • Provide security for events, fights, and employee activities.
  • Escort guests, employees, and others as needed and manage egress.
  • Rove self-parking lots, valet, and exterior of casino.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies including injuries, fires, fights, thefts, and arrests.
  • Observe and report unsafe conditions; assist law enforcement when required.
  • Patrol entrances, gaming floor, and bar areas to monitor alcohol consumption.
  • Verify visitor and employee access badges per regulations.
  • Detain and retrain persons when necessary and eject violators when appropriate.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • First responders to matters of incident to include accidents, emergencies, medical aids and request for assistance from other departments.
  • Guard and escort monies to specific locations throughout the facility and safeguard the nightly drop of monies and tickets from the VLT machines.
  • Strategically posted at visible locations throughout the facility to deter incidents and remain accessible to guests.
  • Possess knowledge of all Twin River Casino facilities
  • Assist guests by providing information and services or directing guests to the appropriate source for assistance.
  • Checks identification of individuals entering Twin River in compliance with Rhode Island state law.
  • Prepare security reports, communicate with guests, outside agencies, and assist in employee investigations.
  • Provide security for special events, fights, parties, employee events, and tournaments.
  • Act as escorts for guests, employees, outside agencies, transportation of injured employees, and disabled guests.
  • Rove self-parking lots, valet, and exterior of casino.
  • Act quickly in emergency response which includes injured guests and employees, fires, fights, thefts, and arrests.
  • Observe and report any hazardous, dangerous or unsafe conditions that may cause injury to guests and/or employees.
  • Assist fire, police, or other law enforcement agency in their official capacity when responding to or investigating incidents within the facility.
  • Patrol and monitor entrances, gaming floor, and bar areas for the control of alcohol consumption.
  • Monitor the physical access control for the facility verifying authorization and issuing visitor and employee access badges in accordance with the Department of Business Regulations and Rhode Island Lottery.
  • When appropriate detain and retrain persons that have or are about to commit a crime or present danger.
  • When appropriate eject persons who are in violations of company policies and procedures.

Target Hourly Range

Qualifications
Experience
  • Frequently use eye/hand coordination (preferred)
  • Constantly use manual dexterity, following directions, adhere to detail (preferred)
  • Constantly stand, walk several hundred feet, climb, carry, hear, bend, and stoop (preferred)
  • Rhode Island Pistol Permit (preferred)
  • Must be able to be licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulations, as well as be able to complete a background check performed by them. (preferred)
  • Armed or unarmed security guards, in good standing, who have a minimum of three (3) years of on-the-job experience with a reputable security services firm approved by the Director and satisfactorily complete the training requirements. (preferred)
  • Active, or former, military personnel with an honorable discharge and a minimum of three (3) years of service, who either have appropriate law enforcement training and experience consistent with civilian law enforcement experience. (preferred)
  • Security agents must also be current or former correctional officers with a minimum of two (2) years of on the-job experience, in good standing, and graduates of the Correction Officers Training Academy; current or former U.S. Department of Homeland Security personnel who have received appropriate law enforcement training and have a minimum of two (2) years of on-the-job experience. (preferred)
  • Security agents shall be current or former law enforcement officers, in good standing, with a minimum of two (2) years of on-the-job experience. They will have a certificate of completion from a law enforcement academy approved by the Director. (preferred)
