Job summary

DK Security in Grayling, Michigan, is seeking an Armed Security Officer to join a 2nd and 3rd shift team protecting a local military headquarters. The role requires a valid Michigan CPL and Driver's License, a clean background, and ability to pass drug testing.

Compensation starts at $19.89 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and safety responsibilities at the site. Responsibilities include guarding entry/exit points, performing patrols, enforcing access control, and reporting incidents.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Must have a current, valid State of Michigan Concealed Pistol License.
• Must have either a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• May NOT have any felony convictions, and must be able to pass a criminal background check in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test at the time of hire and annually thereafter.
• Must be a citizen of the United States of America.
• Must have impeccable grooming and a professional appearance.
• Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to solve problems and de-escalate situations.
• Must have a valid State of Michigan driver’s license, and have a clean driving record with less than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Guard posts at the entry / exit points of the local military base.
• Conduct foot & vehicle patrols of the interior and exterior of the grounds to ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
• Check for employee, vendor, and visitor identifications.
• Look for suspicious persons, packages and activities.
• Follow site specific post guidelines.
• Document daily activities and report all incidents.
• Other duties as assigned.
