Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Officer in Houston, TX, to guard and protect retail locations and customers. You will patrol both vehicle and foot routes, maintain a visible presence, deter incidents, and deliver professional customer service.

The role emphasizes response to incidents, attention to policy, and safe handling of equipment in compliance with laws and company procedures. Drive-time is part of the job and a Level III armed certification is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years combined law enforcement, corrections, or military OR 5+ years armed security experience.
• At least 21 years old.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.
• Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as per law.
• Drug screen as required.
• Participate in security training programs.
• Licensing requirements per state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to customers, employees, vendors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and actions in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the grocery retail location, including sales floors, entrances, parking areas, loading areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location to help deter theft, trespassing, unauthorized access, and other security-related concerns.
• Maintain professional readiness and handle assigned equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, Allied Universal policies, and site procedures.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
