Job summary

Allied Universal in Houston is seeking an Armed Security Officer to patrol retail locations, deter theft, assist customers, and maintain a secure environment. You will perform routine vehicle and foot patrols, monitor access points, and respond to alarms promptly with professional judgment.

This position requires a Texas Level III Armed Certification, a valid driver’s license, and at least 3–5 years of related security experience; a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or 5+ years armed security experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Texas Level III Armed Certification required.
• 21+ years of age for armed roles.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, parking lots, loading areas, and perimeter locations, while remaining alert for unusual activity and helping to deter theft and unauthorized access.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Monitor access points, observe customer and employee activity, and report security-related concerns, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain required documentation, including patrol logs, incident reports, and shift activity records, in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
