Job summary

Allied Universal is currently seeking an armed Security Officer in Chicago, IL to safeguard clients across financial institutions and other sectors. The role involves monitoring, patrolling, and responding to incidents with professionalism while maintaining a welcoming environment through strong customer service. Position Type: Full Time.

Pay Rate: $21.53 per hour. Work schedule includes day shifts Monday through Saturday.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Armed guard card and/or license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check conducted per federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Must be at least 21 years old for armed roles.
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors at a financial institution by carrying out site-specific security procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Respond to alarms, incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and professionally per post orders and escalation procedures.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials, and report suspicious activity or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain documentation for patrols, incidents, and security activities.
