Summary

The Armed Security Guard personnel will be responsible for providing security services at a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers location.

Responsibilities

1. Communicate via radio, telephone, and orally according to orders.
2. Interact and escort as required with public and government personnel.
3. Provide access control, traffic control, and conduct walking and motorized armed security functions.
4. Follow applicable standard operating procedures and government regulations pertaining to security of weapons, buildings, personnel, government property, and equipment.
5. Conduct personnel, vehicular, building, & facility checks and package & parcel inspections.
6. Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. Armed Security Guard certification through DCJS.
3. Active Secret clearance.
4. Must be at least 21 years old.
5. Certified in use of Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) Spray.
6. Certified in use of Batons.
7. Minimum of one year experience with a civilian police force, military police force, or civilian security organization.
8. Current CPR certification through the American Red Cross.
9. Meet PAT physical agility standards as set by the customer.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Skill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment.
2. Knowledge of computer software applications: MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook.
