This role will start September 2, 2025

The starting hourly rate is $24.97/hour (non-negotiable). Pay increases are available upon successful completion of training and benchmarks. Employees meeting the criteria can earn over $36/hour after 3 years in role.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Protect public health and welfare by defending the station against radiological sabotage, attack, or theft of nuclear material. Maintain a secure perimeter, perform searches, patrols, inspections, and respond to threats, in accordance with site security plans and procedures.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Maintain qualifications for the position
• Conduct patrols and inspections
• Monitor access to security areas
• Perform search activities
• Respond to threats and contingencies
• Perform equipment testing
• Provide physical protection of nuclear facilities against intrusion and sabotage
• Conduct armed patrols (stationary, foot, vehicle)
• Monitor surveillance and alarm systems
• Deter criminal activity and safety violations
• Perform other duties as per training and post orders

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Pass state-required training and licensing
• Be at least 21 years old
• High School diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to pass drug tests and background checks
• Pass state licensing test for driving a company vehicle
• Operate communication and surveillance equipment
• Complete all required training
• Communicate effectively and interact cordially with the public
• Pass post-offer psychological, physical, and firearms qualification tests in accordance with nuclear regulatory requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Military experience
• Law enforcement or criminal justice background
• Prior armed security experience
