Job summary

Dayton Children's Hospital is actively seeking an Armed Public Safety Officer for the Main Campus to cover the 2nd shift. You will ensure safety and enforce security policies during routine operations and emergencies while maintaining a respectful, professional demeanor.

The role requires collaboration with multiple departments to protect patients, visitors, staff, and physicians. You will support hospital safety initiatives and, when needed, patient transport and incident response activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid Ohio driver’s license (no SR-22).
• OPOTA Private Security Academy or Basic Peace Officer certification within 12 months of hire; OPOTA certification preferred at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest level of safety and security for the hospital in daily operations and emergencies.
• Enforce hospital security rules, regulations, and policies in a professional manner.
• Collaborate with all departments to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, staff and physicians.
• Assist with patient transport when needed and support hospital-wide safety and infection prevention initiatives.
