Job summary

SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital is seeking a Regular, full-time Security Officer for the Evening Shift. The role provides a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors, serving as a first responder to urgent facility matters.

Responsibilities include rounds, door checks, escorting staff, incident reporting, and collaboration with clinical teams. Candidates must pass a psychological assessment and MVR checks; armed officer certification may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience.
• Must be willing to become an armed officer while employed with SSM Health.
• Must successfully complete a psychological assessment after conditional offer.
• Valid driver's license and clean MVR in MO/IL/OK/WI, with background checks and drug screening as standard.
• State-specific licensing requirements (Illinois/Missouri/St. Charles County) as cited in job description.

Responsibilities

• Protects property and staff by performing interior and exterior rounds and monitoring for safety.
• Assists with door checks, lighting, elevators, and escorts for staff and patients.
• Responds to requests for assistance and escorts emergency personnel as needed.
• Maintains professional customer service while assessing safety hazards and communicating with clinical staff.
• Completes incident reports and shift logs; forwards to appropriate personnel.
• Operates safety equipment and may drive a patrol vehicle as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
