Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Armed Patrol Driver in San Jose, CA to safeguard riders, employees, and facilities at a public transportation location. You will conduct routine armed patrols, respond to incidents, and maintain a visible security presence to deter threats, while delivering professional customer service.

This full-time driving post requires a valid driver’s license, an armed guard card, and at least one year of related experience.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license per Allied Universal policy.
• At least 1 year armed security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Armed guard card or license.
• 40 caliber endorsement required.
• Must be 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted as per federal, state, local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Industry-specific security training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at public transportation locations.
• Respond to incidents, service disruptions, medical events, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, administrative spaces, vehicle yards, and surrounding perimeters.
• Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain incident reports, patrol logs, and shift activity reports, coordinating with leadership and local authorities as needed.
