Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking an Armed Security Officer to protect patients, visitors and staff across hospital facilities. The role includes patrols, incident reporting, and responding to disruptive individuals with professional de-escalation when possible.

Requirements include a GA driver's license and BLS certification or the requirement to obtain within 30 days, plus a high school diploma or GED and prior security experience.

Qualifications

• Valid GA Drivers License and current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Military, police, corrections, private security background (minimum of two years) is required.

Responsibilities

• Make routine and random tours of facility and grounds using established patrolling techniques and reporting all findings.
• Initiates investigations on security incidents and reports findings to supervisor.
• Participates in training drills and maintains documentation as required by policy and regulation.
• Responds to emergencies and assists staff and patients while maintaining safety and order.
• Demonstrates ability to de-escalate confrontational situations and use appropriate force when necessary.
