Job summary

Trinity Health's St. Joseph’s Health is seeking a Senior Security Officer (Armed) to provide armed, uniformed security on campus from 10:00pm to 6:30am, including weekend and holiday rotations. The role requires NY armed security license or active police officer status and a robust background in security operations.

Responsibilities include threat assessment, incident response, detailed reporting, and collaboration with law enforcement as needed. A $3,000 new hire sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• Valid NYS Armed Security Guard License or active NY police officer status required at hire.
• IAHSS Basic Security Certification within 1 year of hire; NYS pistol permit within 6 months.
• BLS certification required within 3 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide armed, uniformed security presence across SJH campuses.
• Assess threats and respond to incidents; mitigate threats to life and safety of staff, patients, visitors and others.
• Prepare thorough written reports and submit to Security leadership.
• Coordinate with law enforcement when needed based on threat assessment.
• Operate and maintain security equipment and access control systems.
