Job summary

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit is seeking a part-time Security Officer to provide protective services for patients, staff, and visitors. You will conduct patrols, control access, respond to emergencies, and assist with general information while upholding hospital policies.

The role requires vigilance in maintaining safety, handling armed escorts, and cooperating with security teams. Evening shifts are available at this location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 4 years in public law enforcement or armed hospital security OR
• 2 years college in criminal justice/security and 3 years in public law enforcement or armed hospital security OR
• MI MCOLES certified police academy completion with 3 years security experience OR
• Bachelor's in criminal justice with security internship/volunteer work OR
• Valid MI driver license and eligible to drive DMC vehicles
• Public Act 330 certification
• Concealed Weapons Permit required

Responsibilities

• Provide protection to hospital, patients, visitors, employees, and property.
• Perform armed escort/transports and mobile patrols as needed.
• Check badges, passes, and identification to control access.
• Assist patients, guests, and staff with information; respond to requests.
• Investigate complaints regarding parking, safety, or security matters.
• Patrol parking lots and direct traffic as required.
• Monitor alarms, cameras, and security equipment; respond to codes.
• Engage in continuing education in security topics.
• Assist in releasing bodies from morgue.
• Promote DMC values in all actions.
