DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is seeking a Security Officer II to provide protective services for patients, visitors, staff and property. The role includes patrolling, access control, responding to codes, and supporting safe, secure operations in a major hospital setting.

Under supervision, you will execute security duties, monitor alarms and cameras, and participate in ongoing training to advance professional qualifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 4 years of public law enforcement or armed hospital security experience.
• Two years of college coursework in criminal justice or related program with 3 years of security experience.
• Completion of MI MCOLES police academy with 3 years of security experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or security with internship/volunteer in security or law enforcement.

Responsabilités

• Maintain visible security presence and patrol assigned areas.
• Provide armed escorts/transports and other security duties as required.
• Control access by verifying badges and identification to prevent unauthorized entry.
• Assist patients, guests and staff; provide information and assist those locked out.
• Investigate complaints and prepare reports on incidents, property or safety hazards.
• Patrol parking areas, direct traffic, and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Monitor security equipment (alarms, cameras) and respond to emergencies.
• Engage in ongoing education in security, law, and safety practices.
• Assist in releasing bodies from morgue as needed.
