Job summary

OhioHealth Corporation is seeking a Security/Protective Services Officer to provide armed safety and security across hospital facilities and nearby sites. The role includes patrols, incident observation, and assistance to patients, visitors, and staff, with rotation during training to multiple care sites.

Officers must maintain fitness and complete annual training, with shifts that may vary but typically involve 36 hours per week on-site.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• BLS Basic Life Support, DL, OPOTC certifications.
• Basic computer skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Mentally and physically capable to complete training and maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides armed safety and security services in hospital areas and grounds, including off-site locations.
• Observes, reports and documents incidents and risk-related situations to management.
• Assists with violent or potentially violent patients, visitors, and staff; conducts investigations of incidents.
• Enforces hospital policies related to security; serves as first responder to emergencies.
• Controls access and monitors security of drugs in hospital pharmacies; assists during breaks or staff shortages.
