Akima Global Security is seeking an Armed Detention Officer for our Aguadilla, PR facility. The role involves detention, processing, safeguarding, and transportation of detainees as required by the contract, with duties including maintaining order and enforcing facility rules.

The position requires prior detention or security experience, US citizenship or permanent residency, a high school diploma, and successful completion of background, drug, medical, and DHS/ICE clearances.

Qualificações

• Detention experience: at least 1 year as officer or 2 years of college in related field.
• US citizenship or permanent residency; resided in US in last five years.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Pass background, drug, medical checks and DHS/ICE clearance; 21+ years old.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and firearms license; PR residency.

Responsabilidades

• Detention, processing, safeguarding, security, escort and transport of detainees as required by the contract.
• Surveillance and control over detainees; maintain order and discipline.
• Enforce rules and regulations of the detention facility.
• Provide care, custody and control of detainees.
• Remove detainees from holding areas using proper restraints and security measures.
• Guard detainees at deportation or exclusion hearings or during transport and medical visits.
• Inspect and maintain equipment (weapons, restraints, vests, radios) and ensure readiness.
• Make entries in transportation and processing logbooks; conduct security checks before/after shifts.
