Job summary

Walden Security is recruiting experienced Court Security Officers/Special Security Officers to provide armed security at courthouses under the USMS contract in Washington, DC. Candidates must be a current Special Police Officer with verifiable law enforcement experience; a GED or high school diploma is required and at least three years of relevant service with arrest authority.

Qualifications

Must have high school diploma or GED.
Three years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or equivalent within the last seven years; arrest authority required.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

Perform entrance control using screening equipment to detect weapons, contraband and prohibited items.
Perform roving patrols of court facilities and surrounding grounds.
Perform stationary post assignments monitoring CCTV, duress alarms and security equipment.
Perform armed escort duties for judges and court personnel as directed.
Direct traffic and control lights at court facilities when applicable.
Enforce federal law and protect government personnel, property, and the public.
Prepare reports on incidents, labor hours, accidents, and other contract performance issues.
Secure unattended courtrooms and inspect rooms prior to proceedings, testing security devices.
Maintain courtroom order and enforce rules and judicial orders.
