Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC seeks a Procurement Forester to support facilities in Gurdon and Fordyce, AR. This office-based role is at either location, and candidates should be within driving distance of both.

You will analyze timber pricing, delivery schedules, and market trends to inform procurement decisions, develop sourcing strategies, and collaborate with the Wood & Fiber Supply team to manage raw material acquisitions while upholding health, safety, and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree OR at least 1 year’s experience in Forestry, Procurement, or Supply Chain.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Evaluating wood purchasing opportunities using analytical and innovative problem-solving skills.
• Analyze datasets related to timber pricing, delivery schedules, and market trends to support informed decision-making.
• Continuously improve analytical processes and tools through automation and innovation.
• Implementing sourcing and pricing strategies pertaining to the procurement of wood and fiber for manufacturing facilities.
• Working to build mutually beneficial business relationships within operating areas.
• Assisting to drive process improvements and presenting innovative solutions to recurring issues.
• Ensuring all transactions are properly documented and managed.
• Working with W&FS to monitor and manage all levels of raw material acquisition, including administration, capital employed, transportation, inventories, quality and wood cost.
