Job summary

Answers in Genesis – Ark Encounter in Williamstown, KY seeks an AV Manager to lead the AV staff and oversee live event support and daily operations of all AV systems. This role drives service excellence while upholding our SERVE values and faith-based mission.

The AV Manager will mentor technicians, manage schedules, ensure equipment maintenance, and collaborate with Events teams to deliver high-quality audio-visual experiences aligned with the ministry's goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of live production support: sound, lighting, video.
• Minimum 2 years of facility AV installation & maintenance experience.
• Experience managing/leading a group or team.
• Certifications in Dante, Q-sys, ETC lighting consoles; WWB preferred.
• Working knowledge with ProPresenter, PowerPoint, and Keynote.
• Experience with Barco and Ross Video Switching a plus.
• Experience with Alcorn McBride, Crestron, and Christie Digital Projectors preferred.
• Familiar with Mac and Windows operating systems.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with servers, switches and networking is a plus.
• Any formal AV related training and certifications is a benefit.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work, establish performance and development goals for team members.
• Ensure and maintain cleanliness and orderliness of AV racks, equipment, work areas, and storage areas; maintain routine maintenance schedule.
• Support daily attraction operations and ensure equipment maintenance is performed properly and timely.
• Help with development and maintenance of software systems related to AV Services.
• Assist with installation of new AVL systems as needed and directed by management.
• Work with Director of AV Operations on purchasing daily consumables.
• Recruit, interview and train team members.
• Be available for team members and work closely with them to get the job done.
• Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
• Create a SERVE culture environment in all work.
• Approach all tasks with a second-mile mindset.
• Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions.
• Oversee and promote the development of all team members.
• Work with Events team, event organizers and Concert Production Manager on Large events.
• All other duties as assigned by management.

Job Details: Job Location: Ark Encounter - Williamstown, KY 41097, Position Type: Full Time, The AV Manager at Answers in Genesis provides leadership and management to AV staff and technical systems utilized throughout the Ark Encounter. With the main goal of providing audio and visual technology service and support for Answers in Genesis, Ark Encounter. The AV Manager is responsible for leading a team of AV Technicians in live event support, technical support, and daily operations of all Answers in Genesis facilities, but specifically the Ark Encounter. This position will allow one to impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference. • Ensure and maintain cleanliness and orderliness of all AV racks, equipment, work areas, and equipment storage areas. Develop, implement, and keep a routine maintenance schedule.
• Support daily attraction operations and ensure equipment maintenance is performed properly and timely.
• Help with development and maintenance of the software systems related to AV Services within the ministry.

• A flexible schedule is a must as the A/V Manager may need to be available for before and after normal hours A/V support.
• Must be able to work weekends.
• Some travel may be required.
• Must be able to lift 65 lbs. and able to climb ladders.

Education & Experience
