Position Overview

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Area Supervisor is part of the Store Leadership team, responsible for a specific area of the store, overall store operations when acting as Manager on Duty, supervising associates, and maintaining a friendly shopping environment. They ensure proper merchandise presentation, cleanliness, and adherence to operational processes.

Key Responsibilities
Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments
  • Prioritize safety, practicing safe behaviors at all times.
  • Maintain awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe shopping environment; report unsafe conditions.
  • Secure the building, including entrances/exits, EAS devices, cash office, and managing security procedures.
  • Remove clutter and ensure clear emergency exits.
  • Handle customer safety, accident prevention, and emergency procedures.
  • Test fire alarms and respond to alarms after hours.
Customer Service
  • Treat customers, associates, and leaders with respect.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and recognize associates' efforts.
Personal & Store Brand
  • Represent the company brand professionally.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and enforce dress code.
  • Keep store areas clean, well-maintained, and merchandised.
  • Manage daily trash removal.
Merchandising & Stock Management
  • Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns meet standards.
  • Receive and process merchandise efficiently.
  • Manage back-stock and merchandising of the department.
  • Reduce loss due to damage and ensure presentation guidelines are followed.
Loss Prevention
  • Follow Loss Prevention programs, maintain a high customer service presence, and safeguard assets.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security systems.
  • Conduct package inspections and execute company best practices.
Front End Operations
  • Maximize productivity and ensure standards at the front end.
  • Manage checkout lines, train associates, and maintain equipment.
Fitting Rooms
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of fitting rooms.
  • Audit and manage returned merchandise according to policy.
Administrative Duties
  • Handle cash pulls, deposits, payroll, and other administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Previous customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with POS systems.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical & Supervisory Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform physical tasks as needed, including lifting over 25 lbs and working in various store environments.

Supervises retail associates and stockroom leads where applicable.
