Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. in California seeks an Area Supervisor to lead a defined store area, overseeing the general operations and supervision of the store when on duty.

You will open/close the store, supervise associates, and maintain a friendly, easy-to-shop environment with strong merchandise presentation. You will enforce safety and loss-prevention practices, train associates on cash handling, and ensure front-end procedures, stockroom upkeep, and floor merchandising meet company standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the Store and supervise Associates during shifts.
• Maintain a friendly, easy to shop environment and ensure proper merchandise presentation.
• Enforce safety and loss prevention practices to protect people and merchandise.
• Train and coach Associates on cash registers and front-end procedures.
• Ensure floor moves, signing, and stockroom organization meet company standards.
• Handle administrative duties and ensure payroll, scheduling, and daily tasks are completed.
