Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an Area Manager in Suffolk, VA to lead and develop an hourly workforce across shifts, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery. You will partner with Safety, Engineering, and HR to implement plans that meet business goals while maintaining high customer satisfaction across all delivery stages.

The candidate will manage a team, handle flexible scheduling including nights/weekends, and work in varied environments.

Qualifications

2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
Experience managing a team of 20+ employees.
Experience with process improvements (Lean, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma).
Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce.
Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises.
Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, HR to meet business objectives.
Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
Work in environments with variable temperatures and noise levels.
Continuously climb and descend stairs where applicable.
