Job summary

AWP Safety is North America’s leading traffic control and work zone safety partner. The Area Manager will provide leadership and implementation of core values and our mission of protecting customers’ people, business, and time. You will lead safety initiatives, manage the team, and drive growth across large territories.

Expect 40+ hour weeks, field/office mix, and travel to sites. Strong leadership, 5–10 years of management experience, and a relevant degree are required to excel here.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5-10 years of management experience required.
• Strong leadership with communication and coaching skills.
• Excellent motivation and organizational skills.
• Intermediate computer skills including Office products and CRM.
• Experience managing P&L.
• Lean/Six Sigma and process improvement preferred.
• Business development experience for top & bottom lines.
• Experience building high-performing teams.
• Brand development mindset and customer relationship focus.
• Ability to develop and execute business plans.
• Adherence to safe workplace practices and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety initiatives to protect employees, customers, and assets.
• Strategic planning and implementation of safe work practices.
• Oversee P&L, fleet, safety, inventory, and customer interactions.
• Recruiting strategies and staff development for 3–5 supervisors.
• Manage 75–150 field employees across large territories with travel.
• Foster training to reduce turnover and labor costs.
• Engage in leadership practices and regular communication.
• Subject matter expert in work zone setup and flagging.
• Site orientation and ongoing training for new hires.
