Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Sacramento, CA is seeking an Area Manager to lead a team of hourly workers and drive safety, quality, attendance, and performance. You will engage the team during shifts to meet customer delivery promises and coordinate with Safety, Engineering, and HR to achieve objectives.

The role requires 2+ years of management experience, a relevant degree or equivalent, and the ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
• Experience managing a team of 20+ employees.
• Experience with process improvements (Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma).
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
• Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, HR to meet business objectives
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
• Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts
• Work in environments with variable temperatures and noise levels
• Climb and descend stairs where applicable
