Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Maryland, Hagerstown is seeking an Area Manager to lead a team of hourly staff, ensuring safety, quality, attendance, and performance. You’ll contribute to meeting customer delivery promises by coordinating across safety, engineering, loss prevention, QA, and HR, while adapting to different workflows (First mile, Middle mile, Last mile) and site variations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
• Experience managing a team of 20+ employees.
• Experience with process improvements (Lean, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma).
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce.
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises.
• Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, HR to meet business objectives.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
• Stand or walk for long shifts and handle loud environments.
• Work in varying temperatures and weather at delivery stations, including outside areas.
• Climb and descend stairs where applicable.
