Job summary

Amazon is hiring an Area Manager in California fulfillment centers to lead and develop a team of hourly associates and drive safety, quality, and performance. You will mentor 50-100 direct reports, communicate on the floor, and ensure metrics are met across shifts.

This full-time role requires flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays with a typical 4-day work week. Starting pay is site-specific with relocation benefits and extensive training provided.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree completed before start date.
• Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Currently enrolled in a related Bachelor's program (Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering).

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor and motivate 50-100 direct report Amazon Associates.
• Work independently and operate in an autonomous environment.
• Stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays; most sites follow a 4-day work week.
• Oversee truck deliveries, sort packages, operate pallet jack and PIT equipment when needed.
• Work in a variable noise environment.
• Lift up to 49 pounds; push, pull, squat, bend and reach as needed.
• Climb and descend stairs where applicable.
