Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Area Manager for early career growth in Minnesota. You will lead a team of hourly associates in a fast-paced fulfillment/operations environment, focusing on safety, quality, and productivity.

Strong communication and customer service skills are essential, with ongoing training provided. This on-site, full-time role requires managing 50-100 direct reports, coordinating shift patterns (including nights and weekends), and ensuring efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a bachelor’s or master’s degree; all degree requirements met before first day.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program for Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor and motivate 50-100 direct report Amazon Associates.
• Work independently and operate in an autonomous environment.
• Stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
• Willing to regularly work shift patterns that include nights, weekends, and holidays; most sites use a 4-day work week.
• Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks and PIT equipment.
• Walk the floor to stay connected, spot issues, and keep things running smoothly.
• Drive results across safety, quality, and productivity; adjust staffing as needed.
• Coach and develop team members and remove roadblocks with support teams.
• Perform end-of-shift handoffs and document performance for next shift.
