Job summary

CMC, a Fortune 500 company, seeks a hands-on leader to drive safety, optimize melting/refining operations, and oversee EAF/LF maintenance in our Texas steel facilities. You will collaborate with multiple departments to maximize uptime and product quality while mentoring teams and advancing process improvements.

The role requires strong electrical engineering knowledge, a history of leadership in steel manufacturing, and the ability to navigate strict safety/environmental regulations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in a steel manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations within the steel industry.
  • Critical thinking and strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a Safety Culture aligned with CMC standards.
  • Lead melting and refining operations to optimize productivity and ensure smooth production processes.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of EAF and LF equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with Casting and other departments to minimize downtime and maximize production of quality products.
  • Drive continuous improvement through operator training, process standardization, and technology improvements.
  • Identify opportunities and implement changes to improve manufacturing processes and reduce cost.
  • Maintain CMC quality standards while ensuring safety measures and proper use of equipment.

What You\'ll Do

  • Develop and lead a Safety Culture that is consistent with CMC standards
  • Lead and manage the melting and refining operations, optimizing productivity and ensuring seamless production processes

  • Maintain CMC\'s quality standards, while utilizing all necessary safety measures, plant equipment, and other tools

What You\'ll Need

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role within a steel manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations within the steel industry
  • Critical thinking, strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong customer service skills and leadership skills including the ability to interact with personnel, build strong relationships at all levels and understand business imperatives
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces

Your Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field of study required
