Job summary

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) seeks a results-driven leader to drive safety-first manufacturing at our Seguin facility. You will oversee melting and refining operations and coordinate cross-functionally with Casting and other teams to sustain high-quality production.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, operator training, and strict adherence to safety and environmental regulations in a dynamic steel environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role within a steel manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations within the steel industry.
  • Strong communication and leadership across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a Safety Culture that aligns with CMC standards.
  • Lead and manage melting and refining operations, optimizing productivity and ensuring seamless production processes.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of EAF and LF equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with Casting and other departments to maximize production of quality products.
  • Drive continuous improvement through operator training, process standardization, and technology improvements.
  • Identify opportunities, collaborate and implement changes to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs.
  • Maintain CMC's quality standards while adhering to safety measures and operating tools.

What You'll Do

What You'll Need
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role within a steel manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations within the steel industry
  • Critical thinking, strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong customer service skills and leadership skills including the ability to interact with personnel, build strong relationships at all levels and understand business imperatives
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
Your Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field of study required
