Job summary

CMC seeks a seasoned leader to guide continuous caster operations in our steel manufacturing environment. You will drive productivity, coordinate with melting and other departments, and implement cost-reducing process improvements while upholding safety and quality standards.

Required are 3+ years in a steel manufacturing leadership role, strong casting process knowledge, and excellent communication at all levels. This on-site role advances with training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a leadership role within a steel manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of continuous casting processes and equipment.
• Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail.
• Strong customer service and leadership skills; ability to interact with personnel at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the continuous caster operations, optimizing productivity and ensuring seamless production processes.
• Coordinate with melting area and other departments to minimize downtime and maximize production of quality products.
• Identify opportunities and implement changes to improve manufacturing processes and reduce cost.
• Maintain quality standards, safety measures, plant equipment and tools.
• Develop and lead a Safety Culture aligned with company standards.
• Oversee maintenance and repair of casting equipment to minimize downtime.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage the continuous caster operations, optimizing productivity and ensuring seamless production processes

• Maintain CMC's quality standards, while utilizing all necessary safety measures, plant equipment, and other tools
• Develop and lead a Safety Culture that is consistent with CMC standards
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of casting equipment, minimizing downtime and disruptions

What You'll Need

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role within a steel manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of continuous casting processes and equipment
• Critical thinking, strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong customer service skills and leadership skills including the ability to interact with personnel, build strong relationships at all levels and understand business imperatives
• Strong communication Skills (verbal, written, listening) including ability to communicate effectively with all levels or organization
• Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces

Your Education

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred
