Job summary

ShipBob is seeking an Area Manager to lead a 30+ person warehouse team, driving safety, productivity, and engagement while partnering across shifts to meet operational goals. You’ll own performance metrics, coach leads, and develop talent, ensuring excellent service for our merchants and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

This role reports to the Operations Manager, Fulfillment Operations, and requires resolving issues quickly while aligning with safety standards and quality

Qualifications

• 2+ years of people management and operational leadership experience in a high-volume 3PL fulfillment environment.
• Ability to manage performance, deliver feedback, train and develop talent for professional growth.
• Solid computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerBI and TMS systems.
• Strong analytical skills and experience tracking and achieving KPIs.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and a hardworking, learning-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage, build, and develop a team of 30+ warehouse associates (Temp and FTE).
• Review weekly work forecasts and identify productivity requirements to meet building objectives.
• Partner with other Area Managers to balance labor for efficient shift operations.
• Own operational metric reporting (VCPO, UPH, OPH, on-time receiving and shipping, merchant SLA’s, Injury Rate) and drive improvements.
• Ensure teams are trained on processes, understand metrics and goals, and receive coaching and accountability.
• Develop Lead talent with necessary tools, training, and resources.
• Foster employee engagement onsite and participate in culture-building activities.
• Review and approve associate timecards daily.
• Serve as contact for escalated issues and mitigate risk quickly.
• Support safety programs and OSHA compliance.
• Supervise daily workflows ensuring safety and quality procedures are followed.
• Maintain hygiene and contamination control; promote accountability.
• Additional duties as necessary.
