Job summary

New Concepts for Living (NCFL) seeks a Residential Area Manager to oversee residential programs within an assigned area, support managers and staff, and ensure high-quality, compliant services for individuals we serve.

The role requires strong leadership, staff development, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Primary duties include ISPs oversight, staff recruitment, and on-call support in a dynamic, supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Social Work preferred
  • High school diploma required

Responsibilities

  • Ensure ISPs are implemented and reviewed as needs change
  • Assist with recruitment, orientation, supervision, training and staff development
  • Ensure compliance with NCFL policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Residential Area Manager

As a Residential Area Manager at NCFL, you’ll help oversee residential programs within an assigned area while supporting managers and staff, promoting quality services, and ensuring compliance with agency and state requirements.

As a Residential Area Manager at NCFL, you’ll:

  • Oversee and participate in Individual Service Plans (ISPs), serving as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and ensuring individual needs and preferences are addressed
  • Monitor the implementation of ISPs and ensure plans are reviewed and revised as needs change
  • Support residential managers with recruitment, utilization, orientation, supervision, training, and staff development
  • Provide guidance and support to home and apartment managers in resolving staffing coverage and related operational issues
  • Monitor managers and direct care staff to ensure compliance with NCFL policies and procedures
  • Assist with employee evaluations, disciplinary matters, recognition, and performance management
  • Provide direct coverage when a manager is absent, a position is vacant, or additional support is needed
  • Assist with the processing and oversight of program and administrative documentation to ensure compliance with NCFL, federal, state, and local requirements
  • Attend staff meetings at group homes within the assigned area
  • Conduct, participate in, and assist with management meetings
  • Stay current on Division licensing requirements and Circulars and assist with compliance activities
  • Provide on-call support as scheduled or requested
  • Participate in inspections, inquiries, and investigations involving NCFL and Department staff
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor and/or Executive Management Team

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Social Work preferred
  • One to two years of supervised training in behavioral assessment and behavior plan development, preferably with the DD/ID population
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Conflict-resolution and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong reporting and documentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with managers, direct care staff, families, and other professionals
  • Professionalism, flexibility, and sound judgment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and provide support where needed
