Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking an Area HR Manager to support Growth & Transformation across the East Coast with ~75% travel, including potential California trips. You’ll lead HR strategy, recruitment, onboarding, and compliance for multiple communities.

You’ll partner with leaders on performance, employee relations, and engagement, ensuring robust HRIS/ATS management and regulatory documentation. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on people leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in HR, Business, or related field.
• 2+ years HR experience (senior living or healthcare preferred).
• Supervisory and employee relations experience.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance practices.
• Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
• High integrity and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle recruitment, job fairs, and hiring processes.
• Ensure compliance with Sunrise Hiring Standards and employment laws.
• Lead onboarding, orientation, and system access for new team members.
• Maintain HRIS, ATS, personnel files, and regulatory documentation.
• Manage unemployment and workers’ compensation claims.
• Serve as HR partner to department leaders on performance management.
• Lead employee relations matters and internal investigations.
• Drive team member engagement initiatives and action planning.
• Deliver HR systems and policy training for front-line staff.
• Maintain audit readiness and complete monthly compliance controls (MKCC).
