Job summary

Area HR Manager - North Carolina – Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a leader to drive HR strategy across multiple communities, including Charlotte, Raleigh and Winston-Salem. You will own full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and compliance while partnering with leaders to strengthen engagement.

This role requires 2+ years HR experience (senior living or healthcare preferred), supervisory skills, and strong knowledge of employment laws. Travel to communities is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in HR, Business, or related field.
• 2+ years HR experience (senior living or healthcare preferred).
• Supervisory and employee relations experience.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance practices.
• Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
• High integrity and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle recruitment, job fairs, and hiring processes
• Ensure compliance with Sunrise Hiring Standards and employment laws
• Lead onboarding, orientation, and system access for new team members
• Maintain HRIS, ATS, personnel files, and regulatory documentation
• Manage unemployment and workers’ compensation claims
• Serve as HR partner to department leaders on performance management
• Lead employee relations matters and internal investigations
• Drive team member engagement initiatives and action planning
• Deliver HR systems and policy training for front-line staff
• Maintain audit readiness and complete monthly compliance controls (MKCC)
