Job summary

Virginia Department of Transportation seeks a proactive supervisor to manage Area Headquarters maintenance programs, ensuring budget compliance, safety, and timely completion of road projects. You will direct pavement crews, coordinate emergency operations and oversee inventory control across assigned districts.

Responsibilities include data-driven reporting, staff supervision and collaboration with internal teams to maintain service levels and quality in road maintenance operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to gather data, maintain records and prepare reports for personnel, equipment and materials.
• Ability to interpret policies and schedule and monitor work activities.
• Experience supervising staff and managing budgets.

Responsibilities

• Budget and business management: project budget needs, monitor expenditures and forecast monthly costs.
• Complaint resolution: investigate and respond to customer concerns and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Direct pavement and sign marking crews: review materials, plan schedules and coordinate with other teams to maximize utilization.
• Emergency operations: oversee emergency maintenance plans including snow removal and hurricane readiness.
• Inventory control: maintain stock levels, ensure IMS documentation and timely reordering.
• Program management: monitor contracts for compliance and inspect roads for maintenance needs.
