• Considerable knowledge of roadway maintenance and construction practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of inventory practices and procedures.
• Safety shoes required.
• Skilled in operating and maintaining light to heavy duty trucks and equipment.
• Skilled in the use of computers and software applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform roadway maintenance activities and supervise a crew.
• Provide leadership in planning maintenance programs and projects; estimate costs.
• Plan and supervise traffic control devices for work zones and detours.
• Prepare and maintain program documentation and budget-related records.
• Ensure workplace safety and compliance with OSHA/VOSHA rules and MUTCD standards.
• Schedule and direct activities of personnel and equipment to meet timeframes.
• Operate and maintain light, medium and heavy duty equipment used for highway maintenance and emergency operations.
