Job summary

Datavant, a data collaboration platform for healthcare, seeks personnel to process patient health information and manage medical records across multiple site locations (Macon, GA). You will handle requests from patients, insurers, and attorneys, while ensuring HIPAA compliance and data accuracy.

The role entails high-volume processing, confidential handling of information, and collaboration with trainers and managers to maintain standards and support regional coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Willingness to travel locally up to 75%.
• Able to commute between locations as needed.
• 1 year Health Information related experience.
• Able to work overtime during peak seasons when required.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Comfortable using phones, fax, printers, and other general office equipment.
• Professional verbal and written communication in English.
• Detail oriented for accurate medical records.
• Strong data entry skills.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and changing priorities.
• Organize and manage multiple tasks.
• Respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Presentation skills for small group settings.
• Forward thinking and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process requests for patient health information per policies.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information.
• Maintain knowledge of facility software.
• Adhere to conduct policies and procedures.
• Inform manager of work and fluctuating volumes.
• Assist with additional duties as required.
• Apply medical privacy regulations to prevent disclosure.
• Manage patient health records and safeguard them.
• Prepare new patient charts from paper or electronic sources.
• Ensure records are complete and well-ordered.
• Create digital images of paperwork for EHR storage.
• Respond to requests for records from internal and external sources.
• Answer inbound/outbound calls and assist walk-ins.
• Assist with administrative duties as needed.
• Schedule pickups as required.
• Assist with HIS training for associates.
• Generate reports for management as directed.
• Meet productivity standards at each site.
• Participate in teams to advance operational strategies.
• Mentor HIS staff for development.
• Inform leadership of issues and opportunities.
• Provide regional training/coverage as needed.
• Assist onboarding and QA tasks as directed.
• Lead training sessions for staff development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
