Job summary

Xanterra in Tusayan seeks an Area General Manager to oversee operations for the Grand Hotel and Grand Canyon Hotel and Suites, ensuring achievement of business objectives across both properties.

You will drive financial performance, lead a seasonal, diverse workforce, and uphold high service standards across lodging, F&B, retail and guest services. A hospitality-focused bachelor’s and extensive leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with focus in hospitality or hotel management, business administration, finance or similar field of study preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive hospitality leadership experience, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong financial acumen and demonstrated experience with managing complex capital projects.
• Strong relationship & communication skills and ability to convey ideas to varied audiences.
• Proficient with MS Office; familiarity with Infor Cloudsuite, Dayforce payroll and timekeeping, and Opera PMS.

Responsibilities

• Achieve and exceed financial goals; manage business plan, annual budget, capital plan, financial reports, forecasting, labor management and expenses.
• Partner with HR to hire effectively, improve culture, enhance employee engagement and housing maintenance programs.
• Oversee operations across both Tusayan properties—lodge, food & beverage, retail, guest services, and maintenance.
• Lead revenue growth strategies and collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management to maximize occupancy, rates, and ancillary revenue.
• Create and maintain service standards reflecting each hotel's positioning and ensure a positive guest experience.
• Develop strategic objectives and implementation plans for each property and the combined Tusayan operation.
• Foster inspirational leadership and positive relationships with partners and associates.
• Support sustainability through energy and water use, waste reduction, purchasing, and staff education.
