Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking an Area Facilities Manager in New Jersey to lead a multi-site Facilities Management program. You will mentor teams, manage vendors, uphold safety standards, and drive reliable operation of HVAC, electrical, and life safety systems.

You will partner with site leaders and landlords, develop SOPs and PM schedules, and ensure contract compliance while delivering exceptional customer service and meeting store and fulfillment metrics.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Facilities Manager or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education preferred.
• Solid knowledge of building/mechanical, electrical systems (MEP).
• Experience using CMMS systems and reporting including planning, scheduling, and workstream analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with customers, peers, and senior leadership.
• Experience managing remote teams and third party contracted services.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite with demonstrated abilities in Excel and Outlook.
• Demonstrated communication skills, written and verbal, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
• Six Sigma, Lean, TPC, or other operational excellence methodology certifications a plus!

Responsibilities

• Establish and promote a safety-first culture across multiple locations.
• Lead a team of technicians, vendors, and suppliers over several sites.
• Establish relationships with site leads, regional leadership and business partners.
• Uphold contract terms with subcontractors and ensure delivery of services.
• Ensure customer satisfaction in the delivery of Facility Management services.
• Oversee preventive maintenance schedules for critical and non-critical equipment.
• Coordinate FM activities with site occupants and landlords.
• Develop SOPs and PM schedules to support all areas.
• Respond to emergency calls as necessary.
