Job summary

Conifer Realty seeks an Area Facilities Manager to lead maintenance operations across a portfolio of affordable housing communities in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. You will drive safety, quality, and compliance while coordinating with regional leadership.

You will manage teams, inspections, and vendor relationships, ensuring on-time project delivery and adherence to budgets. This role requires hands-on leadership, strategic planning, and travel within the region.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years in multifamily or affordable housing maintenance or facilities management.
• 3+ years of leadership overseeing maintenance or technical teams.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
• Familiarity with HUD, REAC, NSPIRE, and LIHTC inspection standards.
• Project management and vendor coordination experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance operations across multiple communities.
• Drive compliance for HUD, NSPIRE, REAC, and LIHTC inspections.
• Lead and mentor site maintenance teams through training and leadership development.
• Collaborate with Property Management, Regional Facilities, and Asset Management to align activities with budgets and capital goals.
• Track KPIs, preventive maintenance, and unit turnover for continuous improvement.
• Promote safety and ensure OSHA standards across maintenance operations.

What You’ll Bring As An Area Facilities Manager You’re strategic, hands-on, and ready to lead. You bring:

• 5–7 years of experience in multifamily or affordable housing maintenance or facilities management.
• 3+ years of leadership experience overseeing maintenance or technical teams.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
• Familiarity with HUD, REAC, NSPIRE, and LIHTC inspection standards.
• Project management and vendor coordination experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, and CMMS systems.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel regularly within the region.
• High school diploma or GED required; degree or trade certifications (HVAC, EPA, OSHA, CAMT, IFMA/BOMA) preferred.

Requirements

Work schedules may include Saturdays, based on property performance needs such as occupancy levels, leasing activity, and rent collections. When required, weekend coverage will be scheduled on a rotating basis and aligned with business priorities. Employees are expected to support leasing efforts, resident engagement, and rent collection activities during scheduled weekend hours. Work schedules are subject to change based on business needs and property performance.
