Job summary

Texas Materials, a CRH company, seeks an Area Equipment Manager to lead and optimise the equipment fleet across the assigned region, focusing on safety, reliability, and cost-efficiency. You will work with CRH leadership and site teams to drive performance and share accountability for capital planning and supplier relations.

The role requires foundational mechanical knowledge, strong stakeholder engagement, and 5+ years in equipment management with P&L responsibility.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to develop relationships and communicate with all levels of the organisation.
• Foundational mechanical knowledge.
• Foundational industry knowledge (construction, asphalt, aggregates).
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Sound financial acumen, analytics and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead Equipment Managers in repair and maintenance decision-making with coaching and hands-on support.
• Drive cost reduction and operational efficiency while maintaining high equipment availability.
• Maintain open communication with end users, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Visit stakeholder locations regularly to identify opportunities and provide on-ground support.
• Communicate progress and recommendations to leadership and teams.
• Develop and execute a five-year CapEx strategy and lifecycle planning.
• Partner with managers to establish supplier relationships and service agreements.
• Optimise asset lifecycle management across the geographic area.
• Champion new software/process implementation and change management.
