Job summary

CRH Americas Building Products is seeking an Area EHS Manager to oversee occupational health, safety, environmental and sustainability programs across four locations in Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan. Based in Elgin, IL or Romeoville, IL, this role partners with management and hourly teams to communicate standards and achieve goals, with 60–75% travel within the Great Lakes region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in EHS, Science or Engineering related fields.
• 5+ Years in EHS and/or Manufacturing with EHS responsibility.
• Excellent communication skills across departments to facilitate integration.
• Expert knowledge of OSHA CFR 1910 regulations.
• Strong project and process management skills with experience managing major projects.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; regulatory web research.

Responsibilities

• Provide a consistent EHS presence at sites and identify areas for improvement with sustainable value.
• Partner with Area General Manager to ensure ownership of safety at each site.
• Lead EHS professionals and site managers to integrate EHS standards across locations.
• Participate in operating plans, strategic planning, auditing and regulatory reporting.
• Supervise EHS staff regionally and oversee incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Assist with onboarding EHS professionals and operational managers regionally.
