Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a logistics dispatcher to oversee driver dispatch within the metro area, maximize delivery responsiveness, and improve load efficiency. You will monitor progress, adjust schedules, and support branches by phone to manage equipment location and delivery times.

A strong focus on safety and clear communication is essential. Qualifications include a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and knowledge of DOT/Federal Motor Carrier rules.

Qualifications

• Oversee dispatch of drivers within the metro-area to maximize efficiency.
• Monitor driver progress and adjust schedules as orders come in.
• Maximize truck loads outbound and inbound.
• Optimize use of overtime and outside haulers to deliver superior customer service.
• Support branches in maintaining customer relations via phone regarding equipment location or delivery time.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety and proactive communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dispatch of drivers within the metro-area to maximize efficiency and customer delivery responsiveness
• Monitor driver progress and adjust schedules as pick-up and delivery orders come in
• Maximize truck loads outbound and inbound
• Optimize use of overtime and outside haulers to deliver superior customer service
• As needed, support branches in maintaining customer relations via phone, making additions, cancellations, and changes regarding equipment location or delivery time
• Demonstrate commitment to safety and discipline through exemplary personal compliance, accountability and pro-active communication
• Perform all safety inspections within company and governmental policies
• Other duties assigned as needed
